The payout in block 40520 was reverted by the rollback. D’oh!

The same payout has been re-initiated and was confirmed in block 49495:

This payment marks the end of the redemption process. There will be no more redemption payouts.

The redemption claims fund started off at 21310 * 128 NPT = 2727680 NPT, where 21310 is the number of blocks that had been mined on the legacy network. Now 447787.13504 NPT is left, so 84% has been redeemed, give or take a rounding error for transaction fees.

Besides not enjoying the hassle of processing redemption claims, we are not sure we can trust new ones. Redemption claims that are valid relative to a) the legacy blockchain and codebase, which fixes which verifier is used, and b) to the unsound version of Triton VM, which is fixed by the legacy codebase. Trusting redemption claims that were produced before the vulnerability was discovered is one thing; trusting them afterwards is foolish.

With the discontinued redemption process, the hosting for the files needed to execute and verify it will be discontinued as well. So if you are inclined to, download the files while you still can. The chain of transparent transactions remains locked in the blockchain and will remain visible in the explorer.

What’s going to happen with the unclaimed 447787.13504 NPT?

So far we have decided only one thing: Based on mutual agreement, SafeTrade kept trading open across two rollbacks. This decision led to a balance difference, because some of the coins that were rolled back had already been deposited, credited, and traded. The agreement was that we (the founding team) would cover that difference. In the interest of keeping the audit trail pristine, this payment was also made with transparent payment: Neptune Explorer: Announcement 49502/1

That leaves 277454.08504 NPT in the redemption claims fund. We have not decided yet what is going to happen with that.
