Over the last few months we’ve been working on a simple question:
Can mining Neptune without a traditional pool be practical and accessible?
Today, Lentern is live.
Why Lentern?
Pools solve a real problem: variance.
They turn rare individual block wins into smaller, more predictable payouts. That’s useful, and Lentern isn’t pretending otherwise.
But there is another side to that model.
Neptune has time-locked mining rewards. With a traditional pool, miners may ultimately depend on the pool’s accounting and future distribution of those rewards.
We wanted another option.
Your block. Your wallet.
Lentern does not maintain miner balances.
No account.
No deposit.
No pool balance.
No withdrawal.
No custody.
You mine using your own Neptune receiving address.
When you find a winning block, your guesser allocation goes directly to your address according to the Neptune protocol.
At the maximum guesser allocation:
120 NPT → guesser
8 NPT → composer
Lentern never holds the guesser’s mining balance.
That means both the spendable and time-locked portions of your mining reward belong to you from the beginning.

Lentern supports NVIDIA GPUs on Windows, Linux and HiveOS.
Everything needed to get started is available at:
Mining is probabilistic. An expected time to a block is an average, not a deadline. Understand the odds before committing hardware and electricity.
We built Lentern because we think Neptune miners should have another choice:
Pool the variance — or keep the hunt.
Feedback from the Neptune community is very welcome.
Your GPU. Your block. Your wallet.
Mine Neptune. Keep the hunt.
