## Neptune Happenings

### Parallel block Downloading

@aszepieniec and @sword-smith have been making progress on parallel block downloading. The goal is to speedup initial block downloads and re-sync events. Blocks will be requested from any peer that can provide them, rather than requesting a batch at a time from a single peer as occurs now. This should make syncing faster and more reliable.

### Featured: neptunecash.xyz

Please check out [neptunecash.xyz](http://neptunecash.xyz) which has been independently developed by neptune supporters.

The site showcases unique aspects of neptune cash and provides simple instructions for neptune noobs to install and begin using a wallet.

There is also a community driven roadmap and links to various resources.

### neptune-proton wallet polishing

@danda made a bunch of “fit and finish” tweaks to the neptune-proton wallet prototype. HIghlights include a re-worked send wizard, a new peers screen, sortable columns and improved scrolling behavior.

It is hoped that an alpha release can be made within a week or two.

It has also been discussed that the architecture of neptune-proton lends itself well to becoming a web wallet and mobile wallet. With some additional RPC calls in neptune-core to support multi-wallet usage, we should be able to make that happen.

### Welcome back @jfs

This week marks the triumphant return of @jfs after conquering mountains all over Europe. We look forward to working with him once more.

### Alan appears on Snark Chocolate podcast

This actually happened back in July but it is still a good introduction to neptune cash from a zero-knowledge perspective.

### Reminder: 0.5.0 Feature Wishlist

A wishlist has been created for the next version of neptune-core. The team is soliciting community feedback, so please add your desired features on github, or just comment in this thread.
